Requirements
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for a Radio and TV Technician at its Airship Operations base in Pompano Beach, FL.
Goodyear is North America's largest tire company, manufacturing and marketing tires for most applications. It also manufactures and markets several lines of power transmission belts, hose and other rubber products for the transportation industry and various industrial and consumer markets. Goodyear is one of the world's largest operators of commercial truck service and tire retreading centers. In addition, it operates about 1,800 tire and auto service center outlets. Goodyear manufactures its products in more than 100 facilities in 29 countries, producing more than 200 million tires annually. It has marketing operations in almost every country around the world. Goodyear's 2005 net sales totaled nearly $20 billion.
Responsible for the safe and effective handling of the airship, avionics and electronic equipment (including the aerial sign) and TV cameras, along with other associated equipment.
Inspect and repair equipment (electronic, electrical, computer and TV) in compliance with FCC, FAA and Goodyear's instructions and regulations. Drive ground services equipment in support of the Airship operations.
Tend airship (pressure watch) in rotation with other associates in order to maintain a safe masting condition.
Work outdoors with landing crew to safely land/launch the airship.
Requirements:
* A minimum of a 2 year technical degree with formal training or military training or equivalent electronics area (i.e. saudering, splicing, installations, repairing)
* Proficient in all electrical manual skills: soldiering, splicing, etc.
* Proficient at reading electrical schematic drawings.
* Familiarity with ground AC generator electrical systems and all basic electrical circuitry.
* Experience with basic TV/Radio principle and circuits.
* Computer literate with working knowledge of word, excel and lotus notes, etc.
* FCC general license and aviation knowledge preferred or required to obtain FCC general license within six months of employment.
* Must be available to travel extensively for extended periods of time.
* Commercial drivers license (CDL) preferred.
