Sattelite Installer

Job Purpose:

Establishes communications systems by installing direct broadcast satellite (DBS) systems and equipment.



Duties:

* Plans DBS installations by studying design plans, layouts, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools; coordinating schedule with customer.



* Establishes DBS system by assessing installation site; installing satellite dishes, connectors, and Coax cable, including antenna peaking, line of sight, post wires, wall fishes, etc.; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.



* Verifies system functioning by testing equipment and connections; identifying and correcting problems.



* Maintains records by documenting installation.



* Maintains and improves service by completing preventive maintenance requirements; verifying problems with users; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing problems; replacing and upgrading components; installing program updates; testing back-up; referring to schematics, manuals, and manufacturers' instructions; updating equipment records.



* Maintains customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions.



* Maintains safe work environment by following safe practices.



* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.



* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.



* Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.



Skills/Qualifications:

Dish Network System qualified, Installation, troubleshooting & upgrading systems. Applicant must have a van or truck and related tools.
