Service Technician - New Orleans

CITY: New Orleans STATE: Louisiana COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Demonstrate an unyielding cognizance and practice of Environmental Health and Safety standards at all times including unwavering attention to driver safety utilizing methods as trained by Smith Defensive Driving and/or other specified safety programs.
* In-home repair and service of full-line, GEA, major appliances.
* Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through the deliverance high quality service.
* Sell GEA service contracts and appliance accessories.
* Manage assigned truck stock inventory and the maintenance schedule of an assigned service van.
* Must be able to utilize computer to accept daily call schedule in a productive manner, accurately build and submit invoicing and communicate effectively via e-mail.
* View calls individually prior to scheduled run day and provide telephonic communication to consumer to prevent unnecessary trips that result in ordered parts (Save The Call) with a high level of accuracy.
* Meet productivity, efficiency and quality goals as established.
* All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Must be AHAM CFC certified.
* Must possess a valid driver's license.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in appliance repair or related field/expertise.
* A demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of electricity and schematics.
* Excellent communications skills and ability to interact with public and coworkers
* Understand, remember and carry out complex and simple job instructions.
* Must be self-directed.
* Must be able to work reasonable overtime as required.


Physical Requirements:
* Lifting and carrying objects, frequently up to 32 lbs., occasionally up to 55 lbs
* Pushing/pulling up to 57 lbs, moving of major appliances; lifting microwave ovens
* Sitting, driving, stepping-up-into and out-of service vans.
* Extensive walking, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing and stretching.
