Service Technician for PC based metal working lathes

We are a sales and service company for OmniTurn CNC lathes.  They are small, high precision turning centers, made in America.  We have been selling and servicing these machines since 1986.  Over 3000 have been sold nation- wide.  We support machines east of the Mississippi.  Websites that show what we build are www.omni-turn.com and www.omniturn.com.  We design, build, and install automated systems for part loading and unloading.  The job includes the following; Help repair PC based servo controls on site in Farmingdale.Assist  with construction of automated systems for customers? machinesServo systemsPneumatic pistons and solenoidsPLC logic and interfacingWiring and cable constructionAssist at customer locations to repair controls and/or replace machine components.  General warehouse assistance, Training will lead to complete new machine installations and startup.

 

Job requirements:Basic electrical understanding is necessary.  Applicants must have working experience using a multimeter and simple electrical theory.  Amps, voltage, Resistance.  We can train from there.Basic working knowledge of PC fundamentals.  Mechanically inclined.  Since most of what we build requires assembly and then assistance in the field, we need someone who likes working with his hands.  Machine shop experience is a real plus.  Some of the work in the field on existing machines can get dirty.  After training, the job will  include travel to customer locations.  Over night stays are common...sometimes extending into the weekend.
