We have an excellent opportunity for you to join a growing global glass manufacturing equipment  supplier as a service technician headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

OVERVIEW:

To provide customer support and satisfaction by installing new glass machinery, maintaining, servicing and repairing existing machinery.  Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and offering sales support when necessary.  Must be open to a team concept and offer good input and willingness to travel as needed. 

 

The incumbent will be responsible:

 

?for the assembly, disassembly, installation and service of glass machinery.

?for commissioning of lines at the customers site

?to connect and start complex cycles and lines on pre existing systems

? to execute the start up of production runs and function tests of different equipment

? Optimization and adjustments, e.g. Adjusting accuracy of the sensors

?  To change parts and or modules, to execute corrective adjustments on the basis of  specific values

?  To monitor and ensure that costs and dates are met.

?  To maintain complex systems and lines and to repair machine faults

?  To determine the technical state of lines and systems

?  To advise customers on preventive maintenance

?  To clarify the reason for warranty issues, in order to determine the extent of damage and needed repair and to forward the issue for decision

?  To discuss workflow, execution, resources etc. with the involved parties on-site

?  To analyze faults, specify and diagnose errors

?  To develop corrective measures and to execute these if needed.

?  To check project documentation for completeness, function and feasibility on the basis of know how

?  To prepare and administer technical documents

?  Responsible for assisting and maintaining spare parts inventory.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Must have a high school diploma and 3-5 years experience in machine installation and service.  Desire but not required experience in working with glass machinery.
