Shift Supervisor

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

*This is a 12-15 month project for the 28 North stockpile reclamation project.
*Work to be performed by individuals with skills to supervise Operation employees on rotating shifts and to work with Maintenance, Engineering, and Hydromet departments as necessary to achieve goals and objectives.
*Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

-Responsible for the safety, production, cost and developmental objectives as well as coaching of employees and leadership team
- Responsible for administering company policies and initiatives while supporting a team-based environment; assessing employees' training needs
- Conducting tailgate safety meetings
- Coding/tracking employee time and attendance utilizing a computer based system
- Prepares and delivers accurate production reports for shift change
- Conducts and documents performance discussions with employees and effectively provides assistance in resolving conflicts with teams and between individual employees

Minimum Requirements:

- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by advanced leadership training or education up to or including a Bachelor's degree in a closely related area
- Five (5) years related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience
- Working knowledge of Dispatch and GPS Systems
- Computer proficient with Microsoft Office Professional
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong planning and organizing skills
- Excellent Safety and attendance record
- No Active Discipline

Criteria/Conditions(specific background and skills):

-Work is generally in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
-Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday.
-Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
