Shovel Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

-The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising maintenance crews to ensure maximum shovel availability.
-The shift supervisor will be responsible for the safety, production, cost and developmental objectives; the coaching of employees and teams; administering company policies and initiatives while supporting a team-based environment; assessing employee training needs; conducting tailgate safety meetings and coding/tracking employee time, input/approve payroll, and attendance utilizing a computer-based system.
-Responsibilities also include preparing and delivering accurate production reports, management reporting and conducting/documenting performance discussions with employees.
-The successful candidate will effectively provide assistance in resolving conflicts within teams and between individuals as well as perform other duties as assigned.
-This position requires participation in the Runzheimer Vehicle Program.

Minimum Requirements

-Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by advanced leadership training or education up to or including a Bachelor's degree in a closely related area.
-Five (5) years of related maintenance experience including lead or supervisory experience
-Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
-Excellent safety and attendance record
-Eligible per transfer per the Guiding Principles (internal candidates only)
-Desire to work in a fast-paced teaming environment
-Excellent Interpersonal skills
-Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
-Skilled in using personal computers for e-mail, document preparation and simple spreadsheets; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and Word.
-Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
-Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Prior P&H Shovel Maintenance experience
-Prior supervisory experience
-Three Years experience as journeymen mechanic or equivalent training and experience.
