Sr Process Control Technician
Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
This position requires a Team oriented person who will be responsible for the safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs. This technician will provide an interface between staff engineers, operations and maintenance personnel with regards to control system maintenance and associated project development/implementation. Work will also focus on control and information systems as well as associated equipment in Morenci processing areas. Associated equipment may include but not limited to instrumentation, communications, HMI, PLC, PC interface, and third party equipment based on Microsoft Windows platform. Work under minimal direction. Position requires driving over state highways. Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime at a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week, 365 day/year operation.

Minimum Requirements:
* Completion of an approved electrical/instrumentation certification
program or minimum of five years electrical/instrumentation repair and maintenance in a heavy industrial setting.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in SCADA, HMI/PLC based control systems.
* Strong technical knowledge in interfaces and protocols (Modbus Plus, serial and Ethernet a plus).
* Understanding of historical data collection systems (Aspen Tech a plus).
* Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical. manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair.
* High school diploma or GED
* Valid State Drivers License
* Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
* Exceeds expectations performance record (internal applicant)
Preferred Qualifications:
*Associates of Applied Science Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience through apprenticeship and/or work as Sr. Process Control technician.
* Modicon PLC and Intellution HMI Programming experience.
* Experience with variable frequency drive systems.
* Familiarity with various LAN/Ethernet technologies.
* Experience with radio systems and wireless data communications
Criteria/Conditions(specific background and skills):
* Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
* Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
* Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required.
