Systems Integration Technician

There are two open positions. Both positions require 75% travel, one position is 75% international travel and the other is 75% domestic travel.  SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, performs day-to-day technical support of system integration services to our customers, vendors, and System Integration Engineers helping to assure that the total integrated system is performing according to guidelines and specifications. Typically handles routine products and/or problems getting direction from engineering and integration engineers on more complex problems. Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Provides support to customers (TSA, BHS Installers/Control Engineers, General Contractors) by integrating x-ray and CT based security systems and by providing fundamental checked baggage inspection system recommendations.

? Troubleshoots integrated systems conducting self-developed tests in cooperation with Program Logic Control (PLC) software engineers by deriving appropriate tool sets and methods.

? Responsible for the understanding and application of PLC communications protocol and hardware with ability to access and effectively use emPC.log, edac.out, and other associated log files.

? Applies and interprets specialized test equipment to verify functionality of PLC interface components.

? Assists the integration engineer in conducting site surveys for establishing Network Explosive Detection Systems (NEDS) design constraints, oversee, coordinate and support NEDS installation. Troubleshoots NEDS and oversees the repair of NEDS components.

? Assists with site acceptance tests, checked baggage inspection tests, NEDS tests and equipment/system acceptance.

? Assists in coordinating L3 subcontractors, customer service technicians with airport/site authorities as necessary to assist or perform examiner installation, assembly, integration (with NEDS) and testing.

? Monitors, oversees and coordinates L3 subcontractors as directed by Integration Engineer.

? Represents Security & Detection Systems at installation and testing meetings to report progress and status.

? As required and directed by System Integration Engineer, assists in providing project coordination for installation, integration and testing activity

? Assists the customer with performing initial system operations after being certified by the Transportation Security Administration.
