Temporary Full-time Maintenance Worker

SUMMARY

 

The temporary full-time Facility Maintenance person is responsible for the facilities general maintenance and landscaping.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Responsible for all maintenance, repair, and landscaping this includes vehicle and equipment maintenance.

 

2. Responsible for all plumbing, masonry, carpentry, electrical, painting, air

  -conditioning, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and laundry equipment.

 

3. Reads and interprets blueprints, floor plans, and sketches as needed.

 

4. Requisitions and inventories needed supplies, materials and equipment.

 

5. Responsible for overseeing work done by any sub-contractor or consultant if the need arises.

 

6. Responsible for procuring competitive bids on any work required from sub-contractors or consultants.

 

7. Responsible to supervise and teach resident work crews assigned by the clinical team to participate in minor maintenance and house cosmetic care.

 

8. Conducts facility inspections.

The environment for this position is a group home for adults.

In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing/pulling objects, carrying, reaching, driving, lifting (up to 20 pounds), reading, thinking, listening, speaking, following directions, using hand tools, following policies and procedures, writing, and cleaning.

The incumbent must be able to learn how to and consistently perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others.  He/she ensures that safe work methods are employed, particularly in properly using cleaning materials and solvents and directly clients in maintenance activities.  He/she actively promotes safety awareness in the workplace.

 



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

6. Ability to use spatial perception to read blueprints and math skills to make proper calculations, measurements, and estimates.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

1. High school/and or trade school completion or equivalency is required.

 

2. A valid California drivers license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.

 

3. Four years of experience in maintenace and housekeeping of a large facility.

 

4. Must meet Criminal Clearance requirements.
