UNIX Systems Administrator - TAMPA(w/ some Travel)

This position is located in our FL, Tampa (MacDill AFB) facility

UNIX systems administrator for Solaris platforms which will support a global network of replicaticated relational databases, to include both Sybase and Oracle with several thousand users in a mixed Windows and UNIX environment. Applicant will provide senior level knowledge/Tier 3 support to MAJCOM customer and its components. Candidate responsible for tier 3 infrastructure, design, implement, troubleshoot, and support. Will build, configure, and administer several hundred servers worldwide. Subject to deploy to the Middle East to support customer servers and sites. Shall have working knowledge of NIS, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, TFTP, HTTP, NAS, SAN, COTS and GOTS applications.
Experience with DOCEX and/or DTW systems is a plus for any candidate.


Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required with additional advanced and specialized training in UNIX based networks/systems administration/network administration. Applicant should be accustomed to military deployed environments. Familiarity with server hardware, communication systems, and intelligence information systems is preferred. A comprehensive technical knowledge with strong communication skills (written & oral), and strong customer interface skills is extremely valuable. An Industry Standard Certification REQUIRED. Prefer Solaris 8 or higher or SNIA certification.

A minimum or 4 years experience in the administration on Operating System Software listed above. Require strong troubleshooting background in computer hardware, communications equipment, and related services. Prefer strong military intelligence community and/or imagery information background.

Shift work, extended deployments to hazardous duty zones. 24 hour recall/mobilize for deployment. TS/SBI SCI Required.
