US-TX-Audio Visual Field Service Engineer

The Whitlock Group, an award-winning provider of professional broadcast, presentation and videoconferencing solutions, has immediate openings for experienced audio-visual professionals in the Austin, Texas marketplace.  In addition to our Dallas Regional Headquarters, we now have full integration offices in Houston and Austin to better serve Central and South Texas.  This position will be based out of Austin Office to support our regional field service operations out of Dallas.  Extensive travel and reliable employee owned transportation is required.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Field Engineer, with a great combination of customer and technical skills, to join our team.  Responsibilities will include providing excellent service to our prestigious customer base, including performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of integrated systems, repairs of components, and quality control of installed systems.  Additional responsibilities will include providing installation support to our sales staff for Austin area audio-visual projects. 

The preferred candidate will have excellent technical and customer skills, with a minimum of 5 years experience in installing and servicing audiovisual systems, including LCD/DLP/CRT projection systems, cabling and terminating video/audio systems, and installing components such as wall plates, speakers, cameras and projection screens. Ability to trouble-shoot audio, video, and control systems problems is a must. Factory training on major brands of audio visual systems and components, including Sony, Barco, NEC, Extron, AMX, Crestron, Proxima or Christie is a plus. Knowledge of AMX and Crestron programming languages is desired.  The successful candidate must be self-sufficient and very detailed oriented.  General computer skills, including Microsoft Office are a must.
