Watch Engineer/AC Mechanic

8:00 AM ? 4:00 PM (Tuesday ? Friday), 7:00 AM ? 3:00 PM (Saturday)



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain all mechanical systems to achieve conditioned temperatures as required by the trading floor environment. Experienced in the overall installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of package units and split systems. Assist the Chief and Assistant Chief Engineer in maintenance and upkeep of the NYSE building plant, primarily in regard to the air conditioning, heating, plumbing, ventilating and refrigeration systems. Maintain sprinkler and standpipe systems and the electronic fire detection systems, insuring proper operational effectiveness and response to these systems. Insure optimum operating condition of all pumps, compressors and auxiliary equipment. Maintains a constant pumping flow of the water supply throughout the Exchange facilities. Must be able to correct and/or contain mechanical and electrical malfunctions that might occur throughout the building until specialized help, if needed can be summoned. Make an entry on each watch in the Watch Log describing the operational status of the main plant systems including the Auxiliary Power Supply, and entering any other relevant statements of concern or interest. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. Maintain the spare parts and inventory of all packaged untis under your responsibility. Maintain cleanliness of all equipment, MER's and storage areas including painting. Maintain chemical levels in chilled water and condenser water systems. Generator experience a plus, ability and willingness to learn operation system. Maintain and perform inspections of Life Safety Equipment as per FDNY Regulations. Must be available and willing to work overtime as NYSE Operations require.



Qualifications Required:
NYC Refrigeration license required. Standpipe and sprinkler, air compressor, torch and certificate of fitness permits and universal refrigerant permit required. Pesticide license required. Minimum 5 years experience as an operating engineer and hands-on experience in package/split units, repair and installation. Building management and computer literacy required. Reasonably skilled in oral and written communication. Must have working kowledge of Siemens B.A.S. and its peripheral components such as Penumatic Systems. Ability and willingness to obtain any and all permits required by NYSE Operations. Aptitude test required. Generator experience a plus. Ability and willingness to learn operating systems also a plus. Must be willing and able to perform watch and mechanical shifts alternatively.
