The Principal Financial Group currently has an opportunity available for a Actuarial Analyst at our location in Des Moines, IA.

 

Retirement & Investor Services Finance is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to support income management solutions that help customers transition from accumulation to payout products. The person in this role will support the pricing and product development areas for payout products in Retail Annuities and Institutional Annuities. The primary responsibilities of this position include: monthly pricing and annual pricing reviews of Retail Annuity payout products, support of income management product development efforts, creation of retail/group pricing model for payout products, and expense and mortality analysis for group and retail payout products. The successful candidate should have knowledge of modeling (MG-ALFA experience a plus), knowledge of life contingencies and several years of experience in annuities or insurance.  Strong technical skills are a must, as is the ability to work independently.

 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics or related field required with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience. Knowledge of business unit operations is required.  Knowledge of actuarial mathematics, which could include probability and statistics, numerical analysis, compound interest, and mathematics of life insurance, is required.  Strong analytical skills and strong verbal/written communication skills needed. Understanding of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn, is preferred.  Aptitude in programming languages is preferred.
