Administration Specialist

Western Growers celebrates more than 80 years of serving the fresh produce industry in California and Arizona. Our association members are the farmers who grow, pack and ship nearly one half of the nation's fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts. We have an immediate opening for a Health Benefits/Insurance Administration Specialist in our Irvine office. Reporting directly to the Manager of Administration; the responsibilities will include:

 Manage Western Growers Assurance Trust and Pinnacle Claims Management accounts as assigned. Research and process all eligible group enrollments/adds, terminations, and changes in accordance to Participation Agreements, Employer Policy Statement, Eligibility guidelines and/or summary Plan Descriptions via EDI transmission. Research and reconcile EDI eligibility transmissions for accuracy in order to create monthly invoice for account within specified turn around times.Verify and authorize refund for terminated and overpayments on WGAT accounts. Research cash applications and resolve out of balance ledger problems.Generate daily status and production reports for management including maintaining/reconciling accounts.Act as liaison with other departments for solutions of eligibility issues.Performs other duties as assigned or requested

 

2+ years work experience in accounting/business with knowledge of accounting procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prior knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, Cal-COBRA, ERISA legislation, and health insurance industry. Proficiency in MS Word & Excel is a must. Superior organizational,multi-tasking,andwritten/verbal communication skills strongly needed. Must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines. Outstanding Customer Service skills are required. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and have strong problem resolution skills. Ability to travel as required. Bilingual Spanish verbal/written a plus but not required!!!
