JOB TITLE:
AGENCY MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE
COMPANY INFORMATION:
We are a financially sound and rapidly growing commercial property & casualty insurance company, headquartered in Dallas, TX, seeking a dynamic and ambitious Agency Marketing Representative at our Executive offices in Norcross, GA with the desire and drive to earn a six figure income. This position will report directly to the President of our organization. The selected candidate will work to further develop our agent base and build upon the established success of our business. Operating primarily in the Southwest and Southeast U.S. commercial automotive market, which includes the Truck Physical Damage, Motor Truck Cargo, and Contractors Equipment lines of business, our corporation also provides Builders Risk insurance and other specialty line products. At present, our company is licensed and active in twenty-one states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia, and we are continually adding new states to our existing territory base.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Extensive in-state, out-of-state, and overnight travel will be required in this position. The Agency Marketing Representative will be responsible for prospecting, identifying, qualifying, meeting, and appointing independent agents. This role includes both the cultivation of new agents and the retention of existing agents in all of the states in which our company writes business. In addition, the Agency Marketing Representative will be responsible for:
* Researching the insurance market for prospective agents, making telephone contact with these individuals, and setting appointments to meet with them in person
* Identifying key agents within prospects by analyzing and considering factors such as length of time in business, previous loss experiences, financial history, production volume, and insurance experience
* Soliciting business from agents
* Maintaining current agent relationships to maximize production and margin
* Developing and implementing marketing proposals, plans, and materials
* Gathering intelligence on competitors and utilizing this knowledge as a marketing advantage
* Negotiating and developing business agreements with new agents
* Developing strong relationships with agents to increase production and profitability
* Maintaining a solid understanding of the insurance products offered by our company
* Keeping agents informed of our company?s new insurance products and enhancements to existing products
* Maintaining documentation, preparing reports, and providing information as required
* Identifying and communicating product or market opportunities to company management
* Achieving assigned objectives of agent business mix, growth, and profitability
* Maintaining a strong understanding of market conditions and competitors related to our business
* Traveling as necessary
* Driving long distances from city to city
* Meeting and/or exceeding independent agent growth goals set by company management
* Maintaining and providing a weekly call report on agency visits
* Attending agent conventions to promote products and services offered by our company
* Other duties and tasks as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
* Four year college degree in business, risk management, marketing, or related field
* Minimum of two to three years of insurance or financial services sales/marketing experience
* Minimum of two to three years of property and casualty insurance experience
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
* Excellent oral and written communication abilities
* Ability to manage others without continual managing of him/herself by another
* Valid driver?s license and acceptable driving record (as determined by Company policy)
* Superior organization, planning, and time management skills
* Midlevel financial analysis capabilities.
* Strong knowledge of marketing processes and methodologies.
* Excellent research, analytical, and organizational abilities
* Must be able to work independently and productively with remote supervision
* Ability to take responsibility for actions and outcomes and persist despite obstacles.
* Attention to detail and accuracy
