This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced physician executive to provide clinical leadership in Humana's Commercial business markets. This unique role includes the ability to influence three key disciplines: Sales, Trend/Clinical Strategy, and Provider Relations with the intents to improve the health of Humana members and support commercial business growth.
Sales Partner with account managers to:
o Communicate Humana's clinical strategy to potential and new customers.
o Deliver annual customer clinical results, including the analysis and response.
o Champion Humana's consumer vision and strategy to customers, providers, and members.
Trend
o Assist in the market-based clinical operations committee which serves to monitor the effectiveness of clinical programs and identify opportunities for improvement.
o Help to facilitate a Clinical Condition Center multi-disciplinary team to drive Humana's clinical strategy.
o Provide representation when needed for clinical disciplines on market and corporate trend committees to provide translation of business issues to clinical tactics.
o Partner with Corporate Operations to optimize members' health care experience.
Provider Relations
o Serve as a physician liaison to network providers.
o Support the development of provider network by offering clinical expertise to the network contracting teams.
Market Clinical Leader
o Actively participate with Market leadership to determine and implement strategies that will maximize the market's performance.
o Help to provide corporate clinical representation within the Market and vice versa.
o Assume accountability for initiatives that are clinical in nature.
o Develop strong relationships with market leaders to achieve individual and market success.
Accountabilities:
Clinical expertise for all market activities.
Implementation of market clinical initiatives in conjunction with the Senior Market Medical Officer.
Timely completion of project deadlines.
Open communication with market and corporate entities
Key Competencies
Leverages Market, community, and corporate resources to implement local strategic plans, policies, and procedures, in order to achieve sales goals. Leverages critical disciplines to ensure plans will meet or exceed requirements.
Role Essentials
Medical Degree.
Active, unrestricted State License.
5 years clinical experience.
3 years managed care experience.
Proven successful leadership experience.
Board certification in an approved specialty.
Effective influencing without formal authority: working through others for personal and organizational success.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills to a wide range of associates (front-line to leaders) and both internal and external audiences.
Ability to rapidly build positive relationships with consumers, employers, and providers at all levels in the marketplace
Role Desirables
Board Certification in an approved specialty.
Master's degree: MBA, MPH, MHA, or equivalent
