Business Analyst Associate, I or II

Description:
Uses business and technical knowledge to participate in the re-engineering of business operations to improve business results. Evaluates business requirements and models data and/or system requirements. Analyzes and documents business problems of moderate complexity. Supports regional underwriting and policy processing operations (i.e., quality, training and development of staff, research and problem solving, process and workflow). May also develop test plans and tests and approve new system behaviors. Includes involvement in development of system specifications and implementation of upgrades and systems.

Associate candidates will develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities needed to analyze business requirements and produce documentation for designing, building, and improving systems. Will work closely with more experienced business analysts on project activities.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or knowledge of commercial lines property and casualty. Extensive knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies as well as business process and information flow. Front line underwriting or underwriting assistant experience a plus. General knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies. Requires strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills.
