CA Casualty Claims Specialist

THI seeks a CA Casualty Claims Specialist to work out of its Sacramento, CA office.

JOB SUMMARY: Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and brings to a final resolution personal lines bodily injury/liability claims and limited commercial lines casualty claims of a severe nature via face-to-face investigation and/or negotiations. Responsible for the disposition of claims in accordance with prescribed authorization and according to best claims practices. 
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Undergraduate degree preferred. Postgraduate studies in insurance, law or medicine preferred.

Licenses/Designations: Successful completion of required claims certification schools/courses. Professional development such as IIA or CPCU preferred. State licensing where required.

Experience: Six years related liability and bodily injury claims handling experience.

Knowledge: Proven knowledge of the investigation, negotiation and settlement activities used to resolve severe bodily injury claims. Advance knowledge of causality claims best practices, medical terminology and liability analysis.

JOB CONDITIONS:

 Working Conditions: Office or field environment. Representatives may be required to operate an automobile and have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Must be willing to work irregular hours and to travel with possible overnight requirements. Must be available to work catastrophes (CAT) with multiple on-site responsibilities or for extended periods of time. Extended and/or non-standard hours as required.
