COMMERCIAL INSURANCE UNDERWRITER and UNDERWRITER ASSISTANT

IPS is searching for an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter and Underwriter Assistant, with a background in commercial transportation to join a rapidly expanding transportation division. These positions are in a highly automated Independent Wholesaler with years of proven success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Underwrites (or assists) new and renewal business, and coverage changes Evaluates risks, exposures and coverage issuesCommunicates rationale for underwriting decisionsExhibits a commitment to finding ways to underwrite business to a profitable result without sacrificing quality

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum two years satisfactory commercial underwriting experience in the Commercial Transportation Arena Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization and outside Agents, Brokers and Insurance UnderwritersRating skillsComputer experience with Word, Excel and software programs related to underwriting (e.g. rating tools)
