Casualty Specialist

  Summary:   Responsible for the handling of claims from moderate to high complexity.  Requires the understanding of complex coverage issues, policy interpretation, exposure recognition and multi-jurisdictional liability determination. 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:



 

? Handles complex claims involving losses in accordance with established procedures, directs investigation of claims to evaluate liability damages.

? Attends trials, arbitrations, mediation, etc., as appropriate to represent the interests of the insured and/or company.

? Provides technical assistance in the investigation and evaluation of claims to further the development and training of claims personnel.

?  Keeps current on state/territory regulations and issues as well as industry activity and trends

?  Prepares large loss reports pursuant to company?s best practices 

 

 

Qualifications:



 

?  Bachelor?s degree and/or equivalent work experience is required

?  Prior auto claims experience is required

?  Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

?  Strong analytical skills

?  Organizational and multi-tasking abilities

?  Solid negotiation skills

?  Exceptional customer service skills

?  Team Player who can assist others as needed

?  Solid computer skills and use with MS Office Products
