Claim Representative
Description: Under close to moderate supervision, provides basic customer service in obtaining essential information in order to process routine accident cases involving claims for property, and/or auto and general liability (AL) cases. Exercises initiative and independent judgment and solve problems of limited scope and complexity. This is the first level in the job family and is generally used as a developmental level in which newly hired Claims Representatives are able to develop their technical claims handling skills.
Qualifications:
Must demonstrate a proficient understanding and use of basic policy / contract coverages and be able to recognize questionable coverage/contract situations which necessitate supervisory involvement. Good oral, telephone and typing skills required. High school diploma plus 1-3 years of related customer service experience or applicable insurance knowledge. Licensing required in some states.
