Job Qualifications
Required: 1 - 3 years experience handling New York no-fault claims. Knowledge of Regulation 68, Personal Injury Protection law, medical terminology, and policy coverages. Ability to make prompt insured and claimant contact, investigate claims, analyze loss facts and coverages, and process claims payments presented under the PIP and Medical Payments portion of automobile policies issued by the Company.
Desired: Knowledge of no-fault regulatory requirements for any of the following states: NY, PA, MD, DE, NJ. Experience handling no fault and intercompany arbitration. Knowledge of SIU functions as it relates to claims.
Job Description
Analysis of coverage and conducting investigation of injuries and causal relationship to claim. Proactively interact with healthcare professionals to monitor treatment and disability and determine need for independent medical examinations. Maintain cost containment practices regarding indemnity and expense payments on claims. Negotiate claims with insureds, claimants, attorneys and providers. Recognize and investigate recovery possibilities. Comply with state regulatory requirements and maintain work according to individual/company goals. Work in a team environment.
