About the Opportunity
Claims Supervisor
Claims Service Center located in Richmond, Virginia
Selective is seeking a professional to supervise assigned claims personnel within the prescribed units of authority and claims policy, practices and procedures. This person will work from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervises, Coordinates, and Monitors activities of a claims unit in the Service Center in order to obtain and ensure an accurate, quality work product while maintaining high production standards and performance standards, Responsible for directing quick disposition of claims to service the customer, Supervises training/cross training of staff, Evaluates and gives guidance to staff on an ongoing basis as to their abilities and duties and makes personnel recommendations to insure proper and optimum use of personnel, Coordinates and acts as liaison with other supervisors or branches with whom their unit interacts, Recommends procedural changes and plans, organizes and implements these changes. Keeps current on all changes effecting unit?s work production, Audits procedures and controls to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements, Provides technical assistance to members of staff and assists them with the disposition of claims with claimants, Recognizes any fraudulent claims activity that would require reporting to and investigation by the Insurance Crime Prevention Institute or National Automobile Theft Bureau, Reviews consumer/Agency Complaints, Assists in interviewing and making recommendations for staffing unit, Reviews and analyzes management reports to maintain service and quality levels of the department, Provides statistical data to management to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and state regulations.
Skills and requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Insurance or related field, Introductions to Insurance, General Insurance Program, AMD Claims Experience, At least 3 years supervisory experience, Adjuster Licenses, Also preferred: Associate in Management (AIM), Associate in Claims, Call Center Experience, Adjuster Licenses.
