Summary of Responsibilities:

Analyze,review and consult on Commercial property damage, bodily injury and/other Commercial lines of the most serious and complex nature requiring investigation, liability evaluation, Commercial property damage evaluation, and negotiation. Supervise the activities of defense counsel to expedite settlement and to control average loss cost and litigation expense. Provide advice and counsel to claims personnel. Responsible for the disposition of claims in accordance with prescribed authority. May conduct on-site field investigations of reported Commercial claims.



Summary of Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelors degree. Successful completion of claims certification preferred. CPCU designation preferred.

Experience: Six years of Commercial claims handling experience in a large home office or field claims operation.

Knowledge: Proven knowledge of Best claims practices used to advise and resolve serious and complex Commercial claims. Knowledge of contracts, medical terminology and legal aspects of court procedures affecting legal liability. Knowledge of Commercial coverages as they apply to CGL policies and indemnification.

 

Skills: Analytical skills to make independent decisions and resolve conflict. Excellent oral and written communication skills, Organizational skills. PC and related software proficient.
