Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Provides direct support for the Broker(s) in the development and service of large commercial accounts. Responsible for a minimum of $500,000 in commissions. (Commission range influenced by the expected

service demands of the type of business handled and years of agency experience.)

Performs the duties of a Level IV Account Representative including, but not limited to:

Marketing

? Discusses proposals for policy renewals.

? Gathers information for applications

? Packages and markets applications to various carriers obtaining quotations or bids. Negotiates prices, commissions, coverage, etc. with carrier.

? Prepares presentations/proposals for clients.

? Binds Insurance coverage and prepares insurance binders or certificates.

? Reviews policies and determines proper coverage and possible deficiencies under rating/underwriting rules.

? May meet with clients, as directed, to review coverage.

? Review Client accounting history, respond to accounting inquiries, correct accounting discrepancies.

? May contact client on receivable collections.

? Process dead files

? Process and track claims.

? Responsible for reviewing application submissions to ensure qualify control and adherence to procedures.

? Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of the Broker(s)

? Serves as a technical expert and trainer.

? Takes lead role and assists other team members to resolve complex issues.

? Other Duties as assigned to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements



Education:

? High School diploma or equivalent.

? Must have completed Insurance 21,22,23, or equivalent courses and hold a designation of AAI or CIC or higher.

Experience:

? 10 years or progressive experience as a Commercial Insurance Servicing Representative in Commercial Property/Casualty lines, additional undergraduate or graduate education may be considered if not qualified with full 10 years experience.

? Must possess a valid insurance, valid driver's license and able operate a motor vehicle as this position may require calling on clients.

? Candidate must successfully pass the agency proctored written insurance exam and the Microsoft Word and Excel exams with scores of 70% or higher.

Job Relates Requirements:

? Excellent oral and written communication skills.

? Knowledgeable of personal computers and word processing and spreadsheet software.

? Able to determine course of action to be taken when presented with administration, contractual or marketing situations.

? Work performed with minimal supervision.
