Commercial Lines Underwriter, Westfield Center OH location, Central Division

This position is based at our headquarters location in an attractive historical community approximately 45 minutes southwest of Cleveland. The selected individual would be responsible for new and renewal commercial lines business, concentrating on accounts with premiums primarily over $25,000, while maintaining a profitable territory book of business. The position includes some activity focused on new business production and working with our agencies to develop opportunities.

Duties would include the timely review of renewals and endorsements within Westfield's underwriting guidelines; performing agency audits; evaluating loss referrals; developing action plans for negative trends and large losses; and keeping current on issues that impact the underwriting process. The selected candidate would also provide expertise and assistance in designing new systems and process improvements.

Qualified applicants will possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of property and casualty commercial experience – OR – 5-10 years of property and casualty commercial experience with attainment of CPCU, AU or CIC designation.
