Commercial Multi-line Underwriter

Responsibilities:
· Partnering with Territorial Underwriter, Business Development Managers and Enterprise Development Executives on agency planning and goal-setting, including continual monitoring of progress Representing "one face to the customer" for all Fireman's Fund Insurance Company products and services, including identifying cross-sell opportunities (i.e., Marine, Excess & Surplus, International, etc.)
· Collecting and sharing competitor data with team.
· Predominantly responsible for risk selection & analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of Commercial products and services for renewal business.
· Strong Workers Compensation Underwriting a plus.
· Works in a team environment with Territorial Underwriter(s) and Operations to drive the profitability of assigned agencies.
· Responsible for meeting service standards of a customer-focused strategy
· Demonstrated sales and marketing skills to competitively position Commercial business products and services to customers/producers.
Requirements:
· 3 + Years of Commercial Multi-Line Underwriting experience, which includes production Underwriting. Strong Workers Compensation and Umbrella preferred.
· Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, and Lotus Notes is preferable.
· Knowledge of Commercial products and services, coverages and underwriting practices.
· Multi-line underwriting knowledge and experience.
· Demonstrated skills and authority to handle at least "B-level" complexity accounts.
· Excellent human relations skills to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
· Strong communication, sales and negotiation skills.
· Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, collaboration and influence management skills.
· Excellent analytical, interpretive and evaluative skills to make appropriate decisions.
· Solid planning & organizational skills: time-management, prioritization & attention to detail.
· Ability to develop working knowledge of products/services and strategic direction of all lines and business segments.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education preferred.
