Communications Specialist (Benefits Experience)

Experience working in insurance or having worked for an insurance company or third party administrator is strongly preferred.

DUTIES:
*Create print, electronic and multimedia for mid-size to large accounts, involving moderate complexity for a variety of audiences, concentrating on employee benefits and outsourcing
*Write Summary Plan Documents, newsletters, enrollment guides, presentations, booklets, manuals, etc.
*Edit and proofread documents to ensure quality
*Coordinate with external and internal clients, graphic designers, and vendors on document content, layout, and production
*Implement textual edits to documents in various software formats (Word, PowerPoint, Quark, as well as set up spreadsheets and manipulate data in Excel
*Participate in client meetings and the strategic consulting process
*Conduct research to help support sales efforts and revenue growth
*Perform quality review of other's work

REQUIREMENTS:
*Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or Journalism, or other liberal arts discipline, or equivalent experience
*1-2 years experience writing employee communication, benefits area preferred and communication consulting environment is a plus
*Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical and creative writing, as well as good time and project management skills are required
*Also requires solid editing and proofreading skills
*Must have strong organizational skills, an attention to detail, and a customer service focus
*Technical knowledge related to employee benefits (Health and Welfare, as well as retirement) and other human resource subject matter is preferred
*Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*Meet tight deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint)
*Experience with desktop publishing software, suck as Photoshop and Quark are a plus
