Job Description:


Areas of focus for this position are to conduct NASD required compliance inspections for the Pruco, PIMS and ASM Broker Dealers and required SEC testing under Rule 38a-1 for certain lines of business. These inspections are performed in order to evaluate the adequacy of supervision and compliance related controls. In addition, an important aspect of this position is to also provide ongoing compliance education to Company associates in conjunction with these inspections. The Analyst, Compliance is expected to:

- Plan inspections by gathering pertinent records and analyzing the information in order to identify issues for review during the inspection.
- Lead and execute the compliance inspection procedures during the examination. This entails review of applicable Company policies and procedures with business unit management, testing the adequacy of control systems, and presenting the results of the inspection with the OSJ Principal and or Supervisory Principal. Ultimately, the results of the inspection testing performed are communicated to the applicable Broker-Dealer Chief Compliance Officer.
- Lead and execute the inspection testing required under SEC Rule 38a-1. This entails review of applicable Company policies and procedures with business unit management, testing the adequacy of control systems, and presenting the results of the testing to the appropriate business area management and ultimately providing the results to the respective business unit Chief Compliance Officer.
- Support Business Unit Management by researching questions or handling
compliance related issues as they arise.


Job Requirements/Qualifications:


- The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to handle multiple priorities in a consistently changing environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Prior audit and or compliance experience would be a plus.
- Prior experience with NASD and or SEC would be a plus.
- Working knowledge of NASD (in particular Rules 3010, 3012, 3013) and State securities and insurance rules and regulations.
- Working knowledge of SEC (in particular Rule 38a-1) rules and regulations.
- Strong understanding of one of more of the following securities products and/or operations: Life Insurance, Mutual Funds, Annuities, full broker-dealer security accounts, asset management, and financial planning.
- Familiarity with the broker-dealer environments of Prusec, PIMS and ASM.
- Ability to accurately analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of control systems using appropriate audit methodologies.
- Proficiency in the use of EXCEL, LOTUS NOTES, and WORD.
- Proficiency in Prudential Systems such as Workflow, AOS, VPAS, CFE, ESS, MIDAS, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- NASD series 6 or 7 must be obtained within 120 days of assuming the position. Additional registrations may also be required.
- College degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in the financial services industry is preferred.


PLEASE NOTE: TRAVEL REQUIREMENT 20 to 25% annually
