Data Warehouse Analyst - (N442)

Serve as lead designer for a data warehouse initiative. Responsible for data modeling activities (logical, physical, and dimensional) for the data warehouse environment, and the design and implementation activities to acquire, cleanse, transform and load data into the Data Warehouse.

REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES (listed in order of importance):
Manage all aspects of the data architecture, including models, data staging, and the extract/load processes.

Coordinate with Technical Services and the database analysts for the implementation and support of the Data Warehouse physical environment.

Serve as a primary contributor to the team that will be creating the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) framework for the data warehouse initiative.

Design and create sustainable architecture for the data warehouse, including all information structures (staging, operational data stores, enterprise data warehouse, data marts) to integrate existing and new reporting, extracts and data management initiatives.

Create logical and physical data models.

Perform source system analysis and create specification for ETL logic.
Understand and implement appropriate security models to support ad hoc use while ensuring conformance to HIPAA regulations.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge of:
Data warehousing architectural approaches


Technical Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Strong PL/SQL skills and knowledge of Oracle database architecture
Strong Unix and Unix scripting skills
Strong relational and dimensional data modeling and database design skills
Excellent conceptual, analytical and quantitative skills



Ability to:
Translate business needs into technical solutions
Work well independently or on a team.
Work in a fast-paced environment.
Handle multiple priorities.
Exercise sound judgment.
Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or related field required.
Experience building complex data warehouses
Experience developing frameworks for ETL
Enterprise reporting experience, especially with Business Object and/or Crystal Reports
Experience working in a healthcare environment.


Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge of the LRSP, ODS and Peradigm systems
