Directors and Officers/EPL Examiner

3-5 years of insurance industry experience as well as claims handling experience in the area of directors & officers and/or employment practices law. Candidate must have proven investigation techniques as well as a strong knowledge of legal requirements and regulations. Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven negotiation skills are essential. A knowledge of industry trends, rules of civil procedure, legal jurisprudence and employment practices law are necessary. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to work in a collaborative fashion with a wide spectrum of people, develop and maintain strong business relationships with underwriters and customers. The aptitude to share and impart knowledge within a team environment is a strong benefit.

Specific duties include analyzing coverage, resolving coverage issues, investigating and evaluating complex liability and damage potentialities. Post accurate loss and expense reserves and reevaluate reserve exposures during the life of a claim. Involvement with litigation management with insureds and defense counsel. Maintain an active and well documented diary as well as a favorable and productive file inventory. Adhere to all statutory regulations and Unfair Claim Practices acts as well as special handling instructions involving special accounts. Effectively communicate with all internal and external customers. Proactively control the use, work product and expenses of outside vendors.
