Disability/Life Claims Specialist


You will investigate, evaluate and adjudicate all Disability, Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, and Supplemental Health and Individual Health Plan claims. Responsibilities include determining coverage, eligibility, benefits payable and denials on routine claims. Provide claims and contractual expertise to credit unions, insureds, field staff, CMG employees, vendors, and other insurance companies through contract clarification, benefit explanation, coverage confirmation, claims guidelines and complaint resolution for all Life, Disability, and Supplemental Health plans. You will be the primary service contact for all customers.


This position requires two years post high school education with an emphasis in Business, Insurance, or Communications (or the equivalent in work experience) plus three years experience in reviewing long term and short term disability claims. Typing skills of 30 wpm and mathematical skills necessary to the calculation of benefit payments are essential.? Strong communication, proofreading, reading comprehension and language usage skills are also required. Applicable skills tests will be administered as part of the hiring process.
