We have an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced Employee Disability Manager in our Insurance & Risk Management Department.

Under the direction of the Director/Associate Director, Office of Insurance and Risk Management, you will coordinate the outreach and marketing of vocational rehabilitation disability management in four major areas: occupational injury or disability, non-occupational injury or disability, UCRP and preventative rehabilitation.

Responsibilities:

? Counsel campus departments in California Labor Code, Workers' Compensation Laws, Vocational Rehabilitation, FEHA, disability laws, ADA I, Federal Rehabilitation Act 73, 504 and the principles and practices of disability management.
? Supervise the implementation and coordination of UCLA's Transitional Return to Work and the Permanent/Modified Return to Work programs for employees with Workers' Compensation and non-industrial injuries.
? Interface with Campus and local community resources as well as medical, legal and insurance professionals.
? Supervise the Transitional Return to Work Coordinators.
? Independently ensure the smooth daily delivery of all employee disability services and departmental support.

Qualifications:

? Significant direct experience with contemporary mandated policies and procedures of California Workers' compensation and Fair Employment & Housing regarding Reasonable Accommodations, the interactive process, and disability discrimination encompassing legal changes in the past 10-15 years.

? Must meet the California Labor Code specifications as a Qualified Rehabilitation Representative.

? Certificate with specialization in disability program management preferred.

? Excellent oral/written communication skills and expertise in writing reports, policies, procedures and training materials.

? Computer proficiency to develop correspondence, analyze and graph trends, access databases and prepare reports.

? Ability to interact effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with persons of diverse backgrounds at various organizational levels inside and outside the organization.

? Direct experience in management and leadership, with a history of positive people skills that build and maintain strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the work environment.

? Continued employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory background investigation.
