THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking Senior Account Specialist to join our Employee Benefits team in our Oakbrook office. The Senior Account Specialist will provide marketing and client services for designated clients and prospects.
Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Marketing FunctionsIndependently manage the marketing submission (RFP) process: secure information to effectively market client; prepare all new and renewal submissions for marketing; request data from insurance carriers, review proposals and complete benefit & rate comparisons, discuss strategy, communicate with client, maintain detailed marketing files Negotiate optimum quotes for broadest coverage, best price and highest commission rates for all new and renewal business Analyze marketing results: create detailed benefit analysis comparison (via computerized spreadsheet) of renewal, cost and options for proposals to the employer; confer with Team Leader regarding marketing results; prepare appropriate visual aids (charts, graphs, etc.) for presentation; monitor and track final benefits and rates sold/renewed Keep abreast of markets, products and carrier competitiveness, as well as legislation directly affecting clients and the insurance industry
Service Functions Act as liaison between client and insurance companies in order to independently resolve all normal service problems. Assist client in resolving billing, claim, eligibility and customer service issues. Independently manage transitional insurance company materials: master application and binder check, termination letters to the terminated insurance companies, delivery of enrollment kits, and employee booklets Independently manage the enrollment process by coordinating the various implementation items: confirm benefits to be communicated during enrollment meetings, prepare/obtain employee enrollment materials, coordinate employee meeting schedule Make regular service/relationship calls to clients Prepare reports (monthly service call reports, implementation checklist, booklet plan design checklist)
Qualified candidates must possess the following: 5+ years of employee benefits insurance experience in a brokerage environment IL Producers license Experience with self-funded medical plans and ancillary lines of coverage Experience with an insurance agency management system (Sagitta experience a plus) Proficient on Word and Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills
