LifeCare Management Services, founded in 1993, is a leading healthcare organization that provides high quality, innovative services to approximately 20 long-term care hospitals in multiple states. We currently have the following exceptional opportunity in Plano, TX:

Director of Risk Management
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will provide professional knowledge and expertise in the areas of safety, loss prevention, claims mitigation/claims management, and insurance, to assist LifeCare?s operators in effectively addressing all aspects of risk management. Specifically, you will assist facilities in responding to crisis situations and adverse outcomes; create, apply and monitor facility-level safety programs such as disaster recovery, emergency evacuation, needlestick prevention, fire safety, etc.; develop and implement a strategic plan for the management of the Workers? Compensation/Employee Injury program and claims reserving process in conjunction with the third administrator; plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal OSHA and healthcare rules and regulations; compile & quantify data regarding incidents as well as loss costs; and develop & conduct education and training programs. In addition, you will chair LifeCare?s Risk Management committee, and work closely with LifeCare?s operating team; set goals, objectives and standards to determine effectiveness and performance of LifeCare?s risk management program; direct the operational activities of the insurance broker and various insurance providers; and identify & recommend alternative risk funding programs.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, hands-on leader with a minimum of 5 years of risk management experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, who is able to build effective working relationships throughout the organization to elevate risk management to the next level. To qualify, you must be an ambitious team-player with a strong value system and the ability to set high expectations and achieve results in a collaborative manner. Candidate must also possess strong interpersonal, financial, analytical and oral/written communication skills, and experience with high-growth, acquisition driven companies that have transitioned successfully from an acquisition mode to an operational improvement/internal growth focus. MBA or other post-graduate degree is desirable; and ARM, CPCU or other related professional designation desirable. Experience in managing a Worker?s Compensation/Non-Subscription program also required.
