FIELD HOMEOWNER ADJUSTER (CR4)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for investigating complex homeowner claims by interviewing, inspecting, and securing documentation from insureds, claimants and witnesses. Evaluates extent of damage and determines value of claim. Reviews policies with insureds and investigates claims coverage questions. Provides high level of customer service.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two to three years of previous experience in administrating insurance policies, procedures and practices for investigating and settling homeowners claims. Requires progressively responsible adjusting experience with increased complex homeowner claims experience. Position requires a thorough understanding of CSAA homeowners insurance policies, claims manuals, procedures and practices for investigating and settling homeowners claims. Requires knowledge of federal, state and local insurance laws, regulations and codes affecting homeowners claims. Requires comprehensive knowledge of home construction, repair techniques, and legal terminology. Mathematical and analytical skills needed to calculate estimates, square footage and total repair costs required. Xactimate Estimating System experience. Requires strong interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills. Must be able to prioritize work, organize time and balance multiple responsibilities. Must have ability to learn virtual office technology and on-line claims system. Must have command of the English language and be able to express oneself professionally both verbally and in writing. In addition, the physical requirements of being able to climb ladders and crawl into spaces under buildings/houses is part of the job description. Training (class) will be provided. Valid Automobile Operator's license and acceptable driving record required. Must live within 30 miles of the assigned sub-region/territory or be willing to move within 30 miles of that sub-region/territory.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS in business, insurance or related area or Associate in Claims.
