Financial Modeling Application Leader

Job Description:



The Financial Modeling Application Leader will be responsible for designing employee benefit and health care applications. 


 


-  Specifically responsible for researching, designing, and verifying the financial and mathematical algorithms that support the applications.
-  Provides leadership to Mercer consultants regarding financial/mathematical modeling of benefit and health care costs.
-  Reviews applications and methods in the commercial market and academia to assure that Mercer is at the forefront of financial and modeling application development.
-  Identifies additional financial/underwriting talent within Mercer and actively solicits new financial and modeling ideas and methods from these staff
-  Develops a network of financial and underwriting talent within Mercer to test applications and peer review algorithms


 



Job qualificaions:


 


Bachelors degree in mathematics or related field
minimum of three years of underwriting and/or actuarial experience
Experience with the development of financial modeling tools
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Able to present well, and explain difficult concepts clearly and effectively


 


Preferred:


Previous experience as part of an application development team developing modeling applications
