Group Insurance Underwriter

General Agency located in Walnut Creek is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Group Insurance Underwriter immediately.  A General Agent, a.k.a. GA, partners with multiple insurance carriers to market and distribute their products to brokers and agents.  We are dedicated to providing these services along with traditional insurance sales support for brokers and agents of all sizes.

 

Job Purpose:

To provide quality service to all of our clients; guiding them through the many facets of underwriting requirements.

 

?  Review new business paperwork for missing requirements

?  Complete insurance applications by adhering to established underwriting standards.

?  Gather missing information by communicating with sales representatives, insurance brokers, and insurance companies.

?  Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

?  Assist insurance brokers and/or employer?s with questions, requests, and issues pertaining to post-underwriting process, i.e. installation.

?  Provide information by answering questions and requests; quoting rates; explaining insurance carrier underwriting policies.

?  Maintain continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

?  Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.

?  Maintains inter- and intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.

?  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

? Enhances underwriting and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
