HPR Engineer

Responsibilities:



Conduct property insurance surveys for moderate and large size risks.

Prepare reports summarizing results and recommendations; including overall risk evaluation.

Review architectural and fire protection drawings.

 Analyze sprinkler protection; water supply; site supervision; warehousing; flood exposure; and any other special hazards as required. Prepare PML (Probable Maximum Loss) and NLE (Normal Loss Expectancy) estimates; including all applicable coverage’s.

Conduct periodic meetings with insured’s and agents to develop account improvement programs.

Achieve commitment from insured on loss control recommendations with follow-up for completion. 

Manage all engineering matters on assigned accounts.

Assist with on-the-job training for other engineering/underwriting staff members; and other Southwest Region personnel as assigned.









Job Requirements:



BS in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience; excellent written and verbal communications and human relations skills; good analytical and problem solving skills. 

Previous experience in insurance industry preferable with a minimum of 3 years experience in HPR engineering; in depth knowledge of HPR engineering standards and methods of analyzing hazards.
