We are seeking a Health Care Data Analyst to prepare comprehensive health care information analyses on utilization trends, diagnoses, financial performance, quality, etc, for internal and external customers FCHP accounts, medical management, financial management, and provider contract managers. The ideal candidate will be able to provide written interpretation and conclusions, able to work in a team environment, and establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with all customers and peers.

 

Requirements:  Masters preferred in public health with coursework in epidemiology, business, underwriting, finance or economics.

-Five years experience in the health care field
-Knowledge of epidemiological and underwriting concepts and population-based medical expense drivers, medical/clinical terminology and health care data variables, calculations and concepts.
-Knowledge of financial concepts, economics and statistical techniques.
-Training and experience in Excel, Access, SAS and other applications. Must have proven ability to perform basic programming, program design and use of tables, queries, forms, reports, and macros in Access.
-Ability to analyze large statistical and financial databases.
-Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and analytical and report writing skills.
-Must exhibit willingness to learn and must be highly self motivated.
-Ability to develop and present creative approaches and solutions to business issues; demonstrated understanding of business issues in a health insurance environment.
