Inland Marine Underwriting Director/AVP

Our Property and Casualty Commercial Insurance client is an A rated, financially strong, and very employee friendly Insurance Company. Due to promotions and profitable growth, we are assisting them in seeking an Inland Marine Director/AVP.  This is a Corporate position, which will be located in Southern Maine. There is a possibility that the position can be located in one of the other New England states, as long as candidates are available to travel to the Corporate office in Maine when needed. Responsibilities for this position include leading the execution of the underwriting and marketing strategies for inland and ocean marine specialty lines, identifying and implementing underwriting strategies necessary to support profitable growth goals, and developing agency relationships to cross-market specialty and commercial lines. The person in this position is expected to deliver superior underwriting quality, monitor and ensure profitability of our existing book of business, and attracting and retaining quality employees.  The ideal candidate will have a college degree, at least 10 years of commercial underwriting experience, including three years in a management position, and five years of marine underwriting experience.
