Insurance Coordinator

The insurance coordinator assists with the operation of Children?s Medical Center (Children?s) Insurance Program including but not limited to lines of coverage involving automobile, aviation, boiler and machinery, crime, excess, directors and officers, employment, environmental impairment, fiduciary, hospital professional liability, pollution, property, security officers, storage tank, and worker?s compensation.  This position must be familiar with Children?s insurance coverage, including self-insurance funding and budgeting for payment of deductibles, risk retention and coinsurance.  Will manage, investigate, and evaluate potential and actual claims, and report findings to identified insurance carrier(s) and may participate in reviews of insurance, as well as provide input on levels of coverage and scope of coverage.

 

A Bachelor?s degree in Health Administration, Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, Insurance, Information Management or related field is required plus three (3) years of insurance experience (preferably working with a health care client).  Experience in a pediatric tertiary health care system and risk management would be a plus.  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a good listener, work well as part of a team, be very well organized and able to multi-task effectively.
