Insurance Representative

SAIF Corporation?s Service Center provides an integrated and comprehensive approach to providing workers? compensation insurance and related services to our small business customers.  Our model allows our insurance representatives to provide a full range of high quality customer services to these policyholders.  Insurance representatives can underwrite coverage, provide insurance quotes, issue and maintain policies, and even contact a SAIF specialist to help customers get special assistance to improve workplace safety or assist an injured worker in returning to work.

 

While our insurance representatives handle up to 30 calls per day from a wide variety of businesses located throughout Oregon, the Service Center emphasizes quality of call rather than quantity.  We want our representatives to help the customer work through issues or problems and thoroughly answer the customers? questions. 

 

Our insurance representatives work in a supportive team-oriented environment where successes are celebrated and staff are encouraged to live up to their potential.  They help customers over the telephone every other week, and during alternate weeks provide insurance quotes and issue endorsements.

 

And there?s more: In addition to initial on-the-job training, SAIF will provide formal training to allow you to obtain your general insurance agent?s license -- and we?ll provide ongoing training to help you be successful in your job.

REQUIREMENTS

 

? Two years experience providing customer service in a busy work environment. 

? Prior workers? compensation insurance or high volume, service center experience is preferred.

? College level course work in business, marketing, insurance or related field is preferred. 

? Proficiency using personal computers, including data entry, word processing and spreadsheet applications.  Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.

? Familiarity with workers? compensation or other insurance marketing/sales, underwriting practices, rating and classification systems, premium calculation, billing, policy issuance/servicing and applicable laws and rules is preferred. 

? Ability to explain decisions and identify and resolve customer problems and issues; manage a large volume of telephone calls with timely responses to customer inquiries; and establish rapport and successfully interact with customers in a variety of circumstances.
