Insurance and Risk Manager
COMFORCE is currently seeking an Insurance and Risk Manager for their corporate headquarters located in Woodbury, NY.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum ten years experience managing a global insurance and risk management function in a corporate environment. Must have supervisory experience. College degree and staffing industry experience preferred.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for shopping and administration of all casualty and risk management insurances (excluding employee benefits) domestically and internationally. Provides guidance and assistance to all field locations on risk management including: review of client contract provisions relating to insurance and indemnifications, review of business exception skill categories and assignment of appropriate workers? compensation classifications. Recommends and implements new and renewal insurance options for general liability, workers? compensation (self insured plan), medical malpractice, non-owned auto, directors and offices, errors and omissions and property fire/theft. Develops and monitors cost and risk control procedures to assure appropriate coverage at the best available rates.
ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Administers employee workers? compensation programs including review of claims and skill classification through third party administrator, communicates with field regarding OSHA and work site conditions. Tracks and controls claims activity reporting and monitoring claims to premiums ratio.
2. Develops insurance specifications to maintain the company?s competitive position in labor market, and obtains competitively, negotiated priced coverage for management?s approval.
3. Develops renewal statistics, including projected payrolls by class of worker for annual renewal of all casualty insurance policies.
4. Monitors the timely submittal of claims to insurance carriers and litigations when necessary.
5. Reviews all client contracts prior to signing relating to the companies insurance and indemnification liabilities.
6. Supervises preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state regulatory agencies. Keeps management abreast of compliance issues with regard to new legislation.
7. Issues certificates of insurance (including additional insured, if applicable) as required by approved contracts with clients.
8. Processes all claims, inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable and courteous resolution. Maintains contact in person, and by phone or mail with claimants, through third party administrator or insurance carrier to ensure equitable resolutions to all parties.
9. Provides training, supervision and career development assistance to all department personnel.
10. Provides guidance and education to field offices on workers? compensation and other insurance risks through written updates and seminars.
