POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Selection of risk to include evaluation of medical and non-medical risks, research and assessment of appropriate rating and / or mortality category.
Request and review medical records, lab tests, EKGs, MVRs, inspections, phone interviews and other information as it relates to selection of risk
for life insurance.
Communication both verbal and written with the field force regarding selection of risk, products and service.
Communication with the medical director and / or reinsurance companies as appropriate.
Coding and reporting of information as required by the Medical Information Bureau.
Meet or exceed established department standards for production and quality.

Requirements:

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Working knowledge of medical terminology and impairments. Must be able to apply this knowledge to the selection of risk.
Ability to interpret inspection reports, MVRs and other types of information as it applies to the selection of risk.
Evaluation of applications to ensure that all state guidelines and rules are complied with.
PC knowledge including Word, Excel, Internet, and Windows 95 or later.
Ability to compose correspondence for the purpose of communication with the field, applicants, and others regarding selection of risk.
Posses strong ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with field representatives and the home office.
Strong research skills.
Fluent English skills in written and verbal communication.
Experience with culture in United States.
