Description:
AIG Personal Lines Claims, a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), an international insurance and financial services organization, has a Senior Litigation Specialist position available in our Wilmington, DE office. This position will be predominantly handling large losses.

What you will be doing:

-Exercise discretion and judgment in evaluation of coverage and liability and negotiation and settlement of claims up to established authority.
-Requesting outside investigation from independent vendors, as required, and evaluating credibility of witnesses to determine liability.
-Investigate, evaluate, coordinate and settle complex bodily injury claims. ? Guides the defense and/or settlement of extra-contractual (?bad faith?), complex and unusual exposure claims and those in litigation within settlement authority limits in accordance with sound claims adjudication practices.
? Prepares cases for trial by conducting additional investigations, ordering independent examinations, researching legal issues.
? Controls, directs, authorizes, coordinates and reviews litigation strategy and actions of defense counsel
? Handles complex claims in litigation in addition to the highest value claims not in litigation.
? Exercises discretion and judgment in the evaluation of coverage, investigation, and evaluation of damages and liability and negotiation and settlement of claims up to established authority.
