Loss Control Specialist

Work collaboratively with USI production staff, account management staff and claims department to provide consultative loss control services to client base.  Client base located throughout New England. 

 

Position Responsibilities

 Travel to clients and provide loss prevention services, identify and analyze potential hazards, propose and implement risk improvement strategies and influence/motivate clients? senior management team in a consultative role.Conduct site inspections to identify hazardous operations and potential loss producing exposures.  Analyze as to appropriate controls designed to minimize or eliminate the exposure and report on same.Interact with carriers loss control professionals.Analyze prior losses to determine the probability of reoccurrence from both a severity and frequency standpoint.Develop training sessions for internal and external customers as needed.Schedule client visits, process client correspondence, report recommendations and follow-up as necessary and train less experienced staffAssist in sales presentations to prospective clients.

 

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

 Bachelor?s degree preferred.5-7 years of experience in loss control required.Insurance coverage knowledge in the area of Property, Construction, Business interruption and product liability preferred.Workers compensation, industrial hygiene and fleet safety knowledge required.Proven track record of superior risk evaluation and client service skills.Ability to function independently and as an integral member of the USI service team.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat. Teamwork, collaboration and excellent presentation skills are required.Bachelor?s degree preferred.Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.Must be able to multi-task and have strong attention to detail.
