Manager, Insurance Risk

  Job Summary   Avis Budget Car Rental, LLC, formerly Cendant Car Rental Group, is searching for a Manager, Insurance Risk to join our Insurance based in Parsippany, NJ.  This position contributes to the company's success by managing organization’s risk control strategy to mitigate loss costs in all lines of insurance. Manages Third-Party Administrator relationships, insurance adjusters, account executives, outside counsel, and broker claim consultants.  Manages company claims including claim monitoring, strategizing with departments regarding claim litigation resolution and strategy.  Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities - See disclaimer below for further information. The essential duties and responsibilities as well as knowledge, skills and abilities include but are not limited to the following:





Manages company claims including claim monitoring, strategizing with departments regarding claim litigation resolution and strategy, claim follow-up and resolution, information gathering and review, payment of related bills, set up and maintenance of claim files, monitoring file reserve establishment, settlement process approval, and cost allocation.




Manages organization’s risk control strategy to mitigate loss costs in all lines of insurance, especially, Casualty and Property claims with a specialized focus on workers' compensation.




Manages Third-Party Administrator (TPA) relationships, insurance adjusters, account executives, outside counsel, and broker claim consultants.  In oversight of claims, managing includes account handling instructions, incentive measurements, and any other service issue that may arise.




Conducts file review meetings with TPA as needed to ensure that claims are proactively managed to resolution in accordance with contractual agreements and that established reserves accurately reflect the anticipated value of pending claims.




Supports Legal Dept. with the handling of executive risk claims including coverage review, reporting, and information gathering.




Manages the organization’s Risk Management Information System (RMIS) to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of claims data.




Produces risk related reports for management’s review and analysis, ad hoc database reporting, and excel chart development.




Serves as an advisor to field personnel on all workers’ compensation and third-party insurance-related issues including training of field services and operations teams in claim reporting and claim management strategies.




Participates in insurance renewal process by gathering and compiling underwriting information, meeting with brokers and underwriters, and assisting in insurance policy negotiations.




Successful candidate will possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Proficient in Windows based computer software applications and communications packages.

Proficient with Internet access and applications including RMIS and Claims Management systems.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Minimal travel required.


 




Bachelor’s degree required.


Minimum of 4-5 years experience in casualty claims with a concentration in workers’ compensation.


Minimum of 1-3 years in a Corporate Risk Management environment.
