Marketing Specialist

Harleysville Insurance is a premier small business insurer offering a broad range of property and casualty insurance products in 32 Eastern and Midwestern states.  We have an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Specialist  in our Home Office located in Harleysville, Pennsylvania.

 

This specialist will manage the internal and external sales and promotion function - working closely with product development, underwriting, operations, and legal within the various divisions of the company. Drive the sales function of other business units (commercial lines, personal lines, life insurance, and flood insurance) while working closely with the company?s field operations. 

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Overseeing the development of client/agent marketing materials. Would include development and implementation of collateral materials for new product launches and/or enhancement/modification of existing products. Handling complex marketing/communications/sales support functions and projects.

 

2. Provide promotional/sales direction for new product/program launches including the enhancement of existing products.

 

3. Review competitors programs, including sales strategy, product positioning and key product features.

 

4. Involvement with the more complex marketing/sales supports functions and projects.

 

5. Participation in the creation/maintenance of company web site (portal) content.

 

6. Actively interact with the field staff and distribution force in soliciting ideas to meet emerging market needs and coverage needs. Builds and maintains strong working relationship with the field sales teams.

 

7. Coordinate group, association, and niche business opportunities as well as assisting in the development of other alternative distribution strategies.

 

8. Assist in driving brand building efforts.

 

9. Maintains market data to facilitate target market initiatives.

 

10. May serve as a contact, providing oversight on marketing related issues with firms and/or consultants for which we have proprietary relationships.

 

11. Develop standardized product/service presentations for use by company sales force.

 

12. Engage in the development of new and existing program growth strategies and identify marketing activities that are required to support and achieve all profitable growth objectives.

 

 

This self motivated professional will be an integral part of the marketing team.  We require a strong working knowledge in developing and implementing new insurance products for targeted segments and exposure to commercial and/or personal lines underwriting functions along with basic knowledge of forms and coverage?s. Bachelor?s Degree, or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of related marketing, sales, promotion experience in P&C insurance industry is highly recommended.
